ED O'SULLIVAN

MANAGING PARTNER

Ed is the founder and Managing Partner of CFO Connect®. He has over twenty years of financial management experience that includes start-ups and Fortune 50 companies in the life sciences and technology industries. Ed has served in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer for a number of companies, including Electron, Inc., Fluid Systems - Allied-Signal, Inc., Newpoint Corporation - Proxima Corporation, and Nextec Applications, Inc. In the course of building and managing business, Ed has participated in several mergers and acquisitions, successfully raising over $100 million in equity financing and completing numerous debt financings both domestically and internationally.

Ed has also served on the Board of Directors for JMAR Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: JMAR), where he was Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, Fluid Systems International, Ltd, Consultant Locator. com, Inc., Tribal Luck, LLC, Nextec Applications International, Ltd Pte, and the University of San Diego, School of Business Alumni Association. Ed currently serves on the Board of Directors for LetsGoRobotics, Inc.

Ed has a BA degree from the University of California, San Diego, Revelle College and an MBA degree from the University of San Diego. He has also completed executive education courses in Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School.

Rich Gomberg has over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, operations and strategic planning. Rich has held management positions at various early to mid stage software and life science companies including DermTech International, EPIC Solutions, St. Bernard Software and Ventura Software.

 

Most recently, Rich was Vice President, CFO of Sound Health Solutions (formerly known as iVOW), a publicly traded company. Rich has a well rounded background that includes expertise in corporate governance, financial reporting, budget development and contract negotiations. He has participated in numerous debt and equity financings and M&A transactions. Rich began his career as a CPA at Deloitte & Touche in Chicago. He has a BA from the University of Illinois and is a California certified public accountant.

JAMES SCHMIDT

CFO CONSULTANT

Mr. Schmidt most recently served as Vice President, Finance and Administration of Receptos from November, 2009 and Senior Director of Finance and Operations from May 2009 to November 2009. From 2007 to 2009, he served as the Senior Director Finance and Operations for Apoptos, Inc., which was acquired by Receptos in May 2009. He was formerly Senior Director of Finance and Operations at Conforma Therapeutics from 2001 to the successful acquisition by Biogen Idec in 2006 where he assisted in the transition and integration of the companies.

 

Prior to that, from 1986 to 2001 Mr. Schmidt served in various financial and operational roles including Chief Financial Officer for Kent SeaTech Corporation, Controller for Medical Imaging Centers of America, Inc., MCA, Inc./MCA Concerts, Inc. and Manager of Accounting - Retirement Inns of America, Inc. He has managed the finances, human resources, information technology and facilities of companies from start-up to maturity. He started his career with Coopers & Lybrand and received his B.S. in Accounting and Corporate Finance from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

JAMES

Casey Schnoor brings the experience of a 35 year career covering numerous aspects of the private and public real estate development business across multiple national markets.   His professional experience includes a 21 year role at Brookfield Residential, a $3B North American land and housing development company, as Vice President of Finance.  He was responsible for the management of their national lending relationships, ongoing origination and management of their bank financing and bond insurance portfolios,  while contributing to risk analysis, business planning, project management, public finance vehicles and acquisition underwriting across nine U.S. regional business groups. 

 

Most recently as a private consultant, Casey has provided senior level consulting services to real estate related businesses and family offices to aid in their growth, risk management, strategic business planning, feasibility analysis, succession planning. portfolio metrics, equity partner relations and operating efficiencies for clients with assets in the San Diego, Phoenix and Chicago markets.  Casey has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington School of Architecture

JON O'SULLIVAN

PARTNER

With an emphasis in the healthcare market, Jon provides savvy financial and strategic advisory services to companies across the US. His many areas of expertise include valuation analysis, business plans, financial structures, operational restructurings, compensation analysis, and investment strategies.

Early in his career, Jon served as a consultant with the financial advisory services group of Ernst & Young.

 

He participated in the organizational and financial restructuring of clients undergoing change, assisted clients in the preparation and implementation of comprehensive strategic and business plans, and was responsible for the development of the firm's shareholder value initiatives.

Jon holds a BA degree from the University of Texas and an MBA degree in Finance and Accounting from Southern Methodist University; he is also a Certified Public Accountant.
